Shops are traditionally advised not to be located next to garbage collection stations, gas stations, electrical rooms, or boiler rooms. There is a traditional saying: “Lone Yang cannot give birth, and lone Yin cannot grow.” If there is a public restroom or garbage collection station in front of a building, this is traditionally considered a form of “Lone Yin Sha” (Du Yin Sha).
Shops located on the fifth floor or below are traditionally considered more susceptible to this type of Sha. If a garbage collection station is directly adjacent to the residence, the negative influence is believed to be stronger. If a property is affected by Lone Yin Sha, particular attention should be paid to the health of family members, as illness is traditionally believed to potentially lead to financial loss.
According to certain Buddhist perspectives, spiritual beings are believed to prefer gathering in gloomy places with unpleasant odors, such as forests and garbage collection stations.
